Description

Your Role

As a Senior Studio Architect on Gensler's LAC Design Technology team, you connect design ambition with technical execution — shaping how our studios across Latin America and the Caribbean conceive, coordinate, and deliver their work. You will report to the Regional Design Technology Director and the Studio Director, and play a central role in both flagship regional projects and Gensler LAC's long-term digital design strategy.

This is a bilingual role. You will work fluidly in Spanish and English, collaborating with studio teams across the region and with counterparts in the US and globally.

LATAM projects call for a specific kind of practitioner — someone who treats design-build delivery, close coordination with local constructors and subconsultants, and multi-country teams as the core terrain of the work, not obstacles to manage around. You will bring deep technical fluency in BIM and VDC workflows to that terrain: leading coordination across architecture, structure, MEP, and civil disciplines, and owning the digital thread from early design through construction handoff.

What You Will Do

  • Lead multidisciplinary BIM coordination across architecture, structure, MEP, and civil on active regional projects — running clash detection, facilitating coordination meetings, and managing issue tracking and resolution using Forma Model Coordination, Navisworks, Revizto, or equivalent platforms
  • Own VDC workflows end-to-end: model federation, 4D scheduling awareness, constructability review, and direct coordination with contractors and subconsultants in design-build delivery environments across the LATAM region
  • Develop, implement, and enforce BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) and information delivery planning aligned with ISO 19650 — defining Level of Information Need per project stage (with geometric LOD/LOIN benchmarks at critical interfaces), managing the Master Information Delivery Plan (MIDP), and governing the Common Data Environment (CDE)
  • Integrate Design Technology workflows, tools, and applied practices with project teams across LATAM studios, ensuring that digital processes are embedded in
  • Conduct research and development on emerging applications of Design Technology, including Gensler's proprietary toolset.
  • Manage model health, perform model auditing, and generate analytics that inform and improve design practices across the studio
  • Build and maintain interoperability pipelines between Revit and complementary platforms — Rhino/Grasshopper, Dynamo, reality capture tools, computational design environments, and AI-assisted workflows — ensuring data moves cleanly across the project lifecycle
  • Establish project-specific digital content strategies, including template governance, Revit family management, and shared library standards that support consistency and quality across LATAM studios
  • Oversee regional BIM support and coordination team members; mentor studio BIM leads and contribute to building the next generation of Design Technology talent within Gensler LAC
  • Partner with pursuit and pitch teams to bring Design Technology differentiation into competitive proposals and RFP responses, articulating the value of Gensler's digital capabilities to clients and partners in both Spanish and English
  • Strengthen relationships with office and studio leadership across the region, deepening the integration of Design Technology across all phases of the project lifecycle and elevating its role in how Gensler LAC wins and delivers work

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline; relevant prior experience in the building industry considered in lieu of formal degree
  • Fluent Spanish and professional working English — both are mandatory for this regional role, which operates daily across language contexts
  • Five or more years of experience in a BIM, VDC, or digital design role spanning all phases of design and delivery, with demonstrated progression to senior-level responsibility
  • Proven track record leading multidisciplinary BIM coordination on complex projects — experience in industrial, healthcare, large-scale or mixed-use is strongly preferred
  • Expert knowledge of Autodesk Revit for architectural production; multi-discipline exposure (structural, MEP) is a meaningful advantage
  • Advanced proficiency in Navisworks Manage and/or Revizto for clash detection, coordination workflows, and issue management
  • Working knowledge of Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) / BIM 360, ProjectWise, or equivalent Common Data Environment platforms
  • Familiarity with reality capture workflows,
  • Experience with ISO 19650 and international BIM standards; credentials from AGC, the Lean Construction Institute, or equivalent bodies are a plus
  • Direct experience working alongside local constructors and subconsultants in design-build delivery contexts across the LATAM region is highly valued
  • An articulate communicator who can translate complex Design Technology concepts clearly for design leadership, clients, and contractors — in both Spanish and English, and across varying levels of technical familiarity
  • Punctual, deadline-driven, and accountable, with a strong professional work ethic suited to a fast-moving, multi-studio regional environment
  • A creative thinker who approaches problems with curiosity, brings genuine enthusiasm for research and innovation, and is motivated by the idea that better tools and better processes lead to better design
